What we hold, why we hold it, and how to make us delete it.

Who the controller is

Equity & General Financial Services Limited, 2 Charterhouse Mews, London, EC1M 6BB, registered in England (03314593) and authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (No. 474163). Advisor Group, Fiducia and Securo are trading programmes of that company, not separate controllers.

What we collect

If you send an enquiry: your name, firm, email, phone number if you give one, postcode, the assets-under-management figure if you give one, your timeline, which route you asked about and anything you write in the message box.

If you use the firm search: the text you type is sent to our systems to look up matching firms. We do not keep a record of what was searched for.

The directory we search

The search runs against a directory of UK advice firms compiled from public sources, including the Personal Finance Society's public adviser register, the FCA Financial Services Register and Companies House. It holds business contact details and is used to identify firms rather than to profile individuals. If your firm is in it and you would like it removed, email partners@advisorgroup.uk.

Why we are allowed to hold it

For enquiries, because you asked us to contact you and we have a legitimate interest in responding. For the firm directory, legitimate interests: identifying advice businesses that may want a succession conversation. You can object to either at any time.

Who sees it

Equity & General's acquisitions team, and the software we run the process in. Your enquiry is not sold or passed to another firm.

How long we keep it

Enquiries for up to six years, because a succession conversation often restarts years after the first call. Ask us to delete sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep a record.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it at all. Email partners@advisorgroup.uk. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
