Step back

A respectful retirement, a protected legacy, and peace of mind.

Keep advising your clients with Equity & General’s compliance, paraplanning and administration behind you, and exit on fair terms when you choose to retire.

Securo Partnership Programme from Equity & General

If you are an experienced adviser beginning to think about retirement over the next few years, you may be asking yourself:

  • ?What will happen to my clients once I step back?
  • ?Will I be able to exit on fair terms, confident my clients will be well looked after?
  • ?Is there a succession path that reflects my values and protects the legacy I have built?
The proposition

A succession path that reflects your values

Securo is a succession-led programme for advisers who care about their clients, their legacy and doing things the right way. You keep running your business, with E&G's compliance, paraplanning, administration and infrastructure behind you.

We work with principal-led firms typically managing £25m–£100m of assets under management, and offer a structure that gives you clarity and control while giving your clients the continuity they deserve.

Why advisers come to us

The pressures you may be facing

If you are directly authorised, you may also be feeling the growing fatigue from the mounting demands of running a regulated business. You are not alone.

Regulation and governance

Consumer Duty and PROD demand proof of value and suitability. PI costs rise, FCA scrutiny intensifies, and SM&CR adds personal accountability.

Operational strain

Compliance, technology, administration and insurance costs keep growing, and limited capacity makes FCA expectations harder to meet.

Time and client service

More time on reviews, disclosures and compliance; less on clients. Even unprofitable relationships must meet full servicing standards.

Succession and staffing

Many advisers face retirement without a clear plan, paraplanning and compliance staff are hard to hire, and one person wears every hat.

Commercial pressure

Fee compression and low-cost platforms erode margins while consolidators attract clients and talent through scale.

The choice it leaves

Grow, sell, or risk becoming uncompetitive.

The programme

Key features of the Securo programme

Keep running your business

With the support of our compliance, paraplanning, administration and infrastructure teams.

Transition at your own pace

Staying client-focused and in control throughout.

Exit on fair terms

E&G acquires your assets under management at no less than market value when you choose to retire.

No pressure if it is not the right fit

If we cannot agree terms, your clients are novated to a host of your choosing.

Preserve your legacy

Through our emphasis on intergenerational wealth planning and client-family continuity.

Trainee advisers

Who proactively reconnect with your legacy clients and guide them back to you or your team for advice.

How it runs

Self-paced, and reversible until you sign

Join

Your business carries on. Compliance, paraplanning, admin and infrastructure move to Equity & General.

Rebuild the book

Trainee advisers work with you to re-engage legacy clients and get reviews back on a cycle.

Hand over gradually

Clients meet the adviser who will look after them next, while you are still there.

Exit

When you choose: acquisition at no less than market value, or novation if that suits you better.

Why advisers choose us

What you get, beyond the number

  • Confidence that your clients are in safe, professional hands.
  • Flexible terms that reflect fair value for your life’s work.
  • The opportunity to protect your legacy, not lose it in a corporate merger.
  • A personal, respectful process from first conversation to final handover.
You have earned the right to step back on your own terms — and to know exactly who will be looking after your clients when you do.
Questions

Securo, in detail

Do I give up ownership when I join Securo?
No. You carry on running your business. Securo puts E&G's compliance, paraplanning, administration and infrastructure underneath it. The exit is a separate decision you take later.
What if I never want to sell?
Then you never have to. Securo works as an operating arrangement on its own. The exit terms exist so that the option is there on the day you want it.
What are the exit terms at the end?
The same floor as Fiducia: acquisition of the assets under management at no less than market value. If the terms do not suit you at that point, there is a novation option instead.
Who talks to my clients?
You do. Trainee advisers work alongside you to re-engage clients who have not had a review in a long time, which is work most firms never get to.
How is this different from being an appointed representative?
The support looks similar. The difference is that Securo has a defined, priced endpoint, so the succession conversation is settled at the start rather than left for later.
Can I move from Securo to Fiducia?
Yes, and advisers do when they decide they have had enough. The terms are built so that it costs you nothing to change your mind.
